North Dakota Pipeline Protest
“Ah, but in such an ugly time, the true protest is beauty.” Phil Ochs
Protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline, a 1,100+ mile pipeline that has raised environmental concerns and that land surveys have been inadequate--e.g., Native American burial sites and lands held sacred have been and may continue to be violated. In early December, 2016, a permit to drill under the Missouri River was denied, and an alternate route would be explored---only to be overturned when D. Trump became president in 2017. The photo of the plane was taken as it circled over the camp, a designated no fly zone.
